Sharing a NAS Drive

I just setup an NAS (network attached storage) and the issue is that now we have 3 network devices (two computers and a NAS) that are sharing files. What if I was to mount the NAS to one of the computers and then continue to share it from that computer. That way you only need to login to that one computer.

My quesion is: Would that increase network traffic by the data from the NAS having to go through the Fileserver (which is a PC) and then passed onto the client computer? Or would the data just get passed to the client computer that is requesting the data directly?

Sorry if that doesn't make sense, I'm having a hard time trying to explain it.
