sharing connection between Macs on OSX

I used to have my Macs connected up sharing a connection from my cable modem by following a simple step by step instruction of what to set the IP addresses, subnet mask, router and DNS server on all the computers you wanted connected as well as the one the modem goes into. I remember this much. The main computer was hooking up using DHCP and th eother computers were using that to connect. You would set up the other computers on the main machine by adding them to the network port config and then set up the other computers by inputting the relevant numbers into the TCP/IP settings manually.

Does anyone have a simple step by step "put this number in here, and this one here" kind of deal so that a dunce like me can set this thing going. I know it can be done cos I got a step by step before but this time I simply can't find anything.

Thanks

Easy as:

On the mac with the connection to the outside world open systemprefs and sharing, click the internet button, click share!

All of the other macs should be set to DHCP and it should work straight off, if not unplug the ethernet cable and put it back in again, this will make the dhcp IP address work properly.

I think this is mostly right give me a yell if i sent you wrong!
