Sharing iphoto and itunes with users on same computer

I know this subject has been visited a million times on every mac forum out there, but I cannot figure this out.
I figure I am safe asking this question here because this forum is for newbies like me.
I want both users on my computer to have full access to iphoto and itunes. Not just sharing them. I tried sharing, but my second user cannot modify or delete photos -
All the forums that describe how to accomplish this talk about "alias'" and "terminal" which I know nothing about. I thought I was coming over to mac for simplicity, but it looks like I have to learn a mac version of "msdos".
Is there any help out there for people like me who understand windows and a bit of mac but who do not have a computer programming degree?

Thanks for the help. I am 3/4 there, but I cannot click on "apply to enclosed items..." in the music info screen. I have unlocked everything, but when I choose the music folder, it always changes back to default when I close the window. The "apply to enclosed items" is greyed out.

Again I ask - Is there any way to share iphoto and itunes without complications? I cannot believe how damn complicated it is.
Or, should I just accept that there is no easy way to share iphoto/tunes without terminal, alias' and now net info.
