sharing ipod between powerbook and imac

Is there anyway to share your ipod between 2 machines without it asking you if you want to export your libary on your 2nd machine to the ipod

That'd be a nice feature. If you have the latest iTunes, there is a preference that you can set to share your music. I don't know if it would share the iPod w/ one of your machine is plugged to the iPod.
