shockwave, popcap plugin in Mac OSx Tiger

Right - just got hold of a Mac Mini with OSX Tiger in it. Patience with me please as I am a PC bod and this Mac thing all new to me...

My problem is, have downloaded/installed Shockwave plugin but cannot get the games to load at all from shockwave.com - just pop up window, but blank.

Same occurs at www.popcap.com, when I try to play any of the web-based games there. I think it might be a secuity setting somewhere blocking the Java/shockwave content - am I right?

Have OSX fully up to date, have tried in three browsers IE, Safari, Firefox, same results in all three.

Hope someone can help me as I miss my games!

'... just pop up window, but blank' - because your browser is identifying itself as a 'Mac' web browser. Setting the 'user agent' to 'Windows MSIE 6.0' allows one to determine the following:

'AstroPop', 'Bejeweled 2', 'Chuzzle', 'HeavyWeapon', 'Insaniquarium', and 'Zuma' require 'PopCap ActiveX' to be installed on ones PC. 'ActiveX' is not supported by System / MacOS X.

-----

'Feeding Frenzy' is not a free 'Web Game'.

'Bookworm' does not require any 'ActiveX' installed, and plays via a Mac's web browser. it is a nice game.

If one plays 'Bookworm' with 'Internet Explorer' and 'Opera' - they must press the <return> key; whereas, with 'Camino', 'Firefox', 'OmniWeb', 'Safari' and 'Shiira' - one can use either the <enter> or <return> key.

-----

It appears, you stumbled across an 'ActiveX' supported free on-line game web site. There is nothing the matter with your Mac Mini, MacOS X, etc.
