Should i Upgrade from 10.3.9 to 10.4 or to 10.5?

Hi,

I am using Apple eMac G4 computer and planning to upgarde the OS.

Here are my system specifications:

PowerPC G4 - 1.25 GHZ
Mac OS X Version 10.3.9
512MB of physical RAM
6.0 GB of available space on hard drive

I haven't got my operating system cd's anymore.

I like to know if my system can be upgraded to Mac OS X 10.5 if it can be then can i upgarde straight from 10.3.9 to 10.5 skipping version 10.4? and if something goes wrong during upgarde then how can i recover my old OS bcz i haven't got the installation cds anymore?

What will be the best option for my pc 10.4 or 10.5? Or buy second hand eMac?

You don't have nearly enough hard drive capacity. You must first replace your hard drive. With enough hard drive space, your computer will run either OS. Your choice depends on your needs. If you have no need for MacOS 9 or Classic, then you may upgrade to MacOS X 10.5 with no problems. Otherwise, you should limit yourself to MacOS X 10.4.
