shutdown problems

it seems whenever I try to shutdown my Power Mac G4, it starts up again!. when it started up again, I pushed the power button and kept it depressed until it finally shutted down. Can anyone tell me why is that happening?

Try pulling the battery out. Hold down the cuda reset for thirty seconds and then put battery back in. If it still continues, try eliminating software. Either boot from a cd or, more reliabile, do a clean install of the os.
If it continues to act up after the reset and software elimination then it's probably a power supply that's going out, but that's what warranties are for.
