Google has now released the OS X version of SketchUp. SketchUp is a free, 3D modelling tool and a "Pro" version ($495) exists too. The front page declares:

SketchUp is a simple but powerful tool for quickly and easily creating, viewing and modifying your 3D ideas.
  • Click on a shape and push or pull it to create your desired 3D geometry.
  • Experiment with color and texture directly on your model.
  • Real-time shadow casting lets you see exactly where the sun falls as you model.
  • Select from thousands of pre-drawn components to save time drawing.

Just for the record... Sketchup has existed for Mac OS X for a while... it's just that Google bought it, and has now released a free version.

It's SO easy to use. How spiff.

Yup, I knew this. Still cool, though. :)

I seem to be getting into it very quickly and it produces nice results with little effort. I think the interface looks very good so far. Now I just need to see if I can align things easily...
