skipping iPod

I don't know this first hand, but i was dissappointed this weekend to hear about the iPod. A friend had bought one but returned 2 days later due to the fact that is skipped too much. My friend is a big runner and found it not stable while running.

Is anyone else experiencing this same problem? I know it has a 20 sec anti-skip mechanism so my thinking is that it was a "lemon" iPod.

It might be a lemon.... however, those 20 minutes of skip protection might not do some people any good. My hypothesis.... when you first start playing songs, iPod reads 20 minutes worth of song from the hard disk... this takes about ten seconds.... during this ten seconds when your iPod is loading songs into RAM, your friend is jogging.... thus, the hard disk isn't reading correctly.

I suppose if your friends wants a hrad-drive MP3 player, he'll have to just take a few seconds to stay still every 20 minutes.

Just an opinion.
