I'm experiencing relatively slow boot time after removing the Windows partition I have been using with Boot Camp. (the "revert to single volume" process was performed "by the book" with no troubles).
I came across a forum message that describes the same exact problem and recommends optimizing my boot volume:

Since this is a procedure that involves third-party tools (correct me if I'm wrong) and I have found no official advise on this issue, I would like a second opinion about that... What say thee ?
