slow down and quiet cdrom speed on Mac OS X when DVD play

Hi,

does anybody know, ho to slow down and quiet cdrom speed on mac os x in terminal or with any application (I have iMac g4 & Mac OS X 10.4) like in Linux with hdparm command/utility?

I tried to find solution on google, but without success :mad:
