Hi. I currentley have my mac and pc networked via an ethernet cable. i recentley reformated my pc and have just been going through and setting everything up again. basically the way i used to have things setup was that when i was in OSX i would go Finder>Go>Connect To Server and then type in Smb://Laptop this would bring me to the "SMB/CIFS FIle System Authentication" window where i would put in my workgroup, name and password...i only had to do this authentication once when i initially setup everything. after that it always automatically went to the "select the SMB/CIF shared volume" pop up.
Now however everytime i choose " to connect to server and choose Smb://Laptop i am ALWAYS greeted with the "SMB/CIFS FIle System Authentication" window meaning i have to put in my workgroup, username, password etc every single time [replacing the incorrect info which randomly always seems to be there]. Even when i choose "save password" it never does.
I was wondering why it keeps doing this ? its abit of a pain in the kneck having to type in my domain, username and password everytime i want to connect toa shared folder on my pc !!!
Any help would be apreciated !
