SMBODY help me with DMG.. ME CRYING>!!!

sm1 gifted me an ibook. When i open a dmg file, its says ERROR 35 IMAGE IS ALREADY IN USE.. PLZ ANY1 ..// HELPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!DNT know wat to do.....
 
plz anybody reply... Plz people. PLz. Just dnt view.. I am a total noob.. PLZZZZZZZZZZ.. Will b greatly greatly appreciated...
 
You need to provide a bunch more information (preferably in English)

What model of iBook is it? Processor speed? OS version? Ram? HD?

Does this happen with all dmg files or just one?

PS no need for 2 posts 4 minutes apart, we are quick to answer but not that quick!
 
Also, keep it in this thread. Don't start posting the same thing on other people's threads.

Did the person that "gifted" you this iBook also provide you with the discs that shipped with it? Without that, there's only so much you can do.
 
Yes. It has all the disks... And i renewed the operating system once but the problem persists... When i try to run a dmg file, first it says that the image has been inserted successfully. But then, nothing happns... I mean, an installation or smthng shld begin but nothing happns. Does anybody hav any idea.. And sorry for the spamming. :)
 
1. What is it a .dmg of, and is it all .dmgs that fail to expand?

2. Go to Console and post for Gurus what is happening when you try to open one.

Not all dmg files are compatible with all versions of OS X.

What version of OS X are you running, and what dmg are you trying to use? Select "About This Mac" from the Apple menu to see your version of OS X.
 
Installations don't happen automatically. Once the dmg is opened, you'd have to either copy the program to Applications and start it from there or run the installer, if one is present on the dmg.
