Snow Leopard Installation - Resolution out of range

Hi guys.

I am trying to install OS X with a rather old monitor which has a maximum resolution of 1280x1024.

Once the boot process from the installation CD starts my monitor shows the error "Resolution > 1280x1024 , out of range".

Is there any way to limit the resolution or to boot from the install cd in a low-resolution safe mode or something?

I'd restart the Mac holding down Cmd-Opt-P-R to reset the PRAM. You'll hear the boot-sound twice. Then try again.
