so far?

Looks OK, colors are OK, and the content is OK.
Why do I say this? Because there are no pictures or images! Images and pictures (even little ones) make a website worth while! Add some and then I'll get back to you. ;)

Actually, I can't help but disagree. I see it as a creative endeavor to make sites with as few images as possible and yet remain visually pleasing. There are lots of cool things you can even do with a little typography. Heck, I've seen sites that turned out pretty nifty with an ASCII art header! Don't get me wrong, I'm not the Text Mafia, just throwing out my two cents. And I wasn't able to see your site. Perhaps you weren't running the server?

You need to see it to beleive it.
Not that i'm arguing with you, but in this specific case. :)

A good friend of mine made that site.... the most minimalistic I've ever seen. And yet ... it is still beautiful. Less is more.

Hey, that's pretty nice. It could stand having the other menu items still available after you click one...But nice, even without color.

I think most people on this board are way to into photoshop. Then again isn't that the most dominant professional application on a mac? Oh well. I'm a little frustrated at the lack of diversity in webpages that I see coming out of this site.....

In my opinion they either aren't great or were done by people who look like graphic designers.

Well I shouldn't be one to judge because I'm not all that great with HTML anyway I go with Flash for my personal sites.... I would show you some but I've got no web host... and I can't seem to get past the beginning stages of my sites.

Anyhoo I'm just rambling now ... I only wish I could see different types of sites.....

I agree with you on that site you posted. It's very simple, and yet very effective in the way it works. Why do you think that is?

My guess would be because it's done in flash. Spiffy animations like that can really add to a viewers visit. And even on some occasions no-animations, but exteremly simple design, can go a long way. It's just the way you work with it I guess, and the way it flows.

Do you think the fact that Flash sux on Macs is relevant to the fact that I have seen no flash sites on this part of the board?

I really would like to see some Flash sites, and be able to talk about Flash here. That would be awesome.

Flash sucks on the mac? You did NOT just say that Flash sucks on the macintosh platform! :D

Wow! Flash doesn't suck on Mac's...it's just pricey and for most designers: too risky a field to work with. I say that because most people out in the computer world today don't have a copy of flash downloaded and don't plan on getting it in the long run. There are also users (like myself) that are annoyed by flash because of it's tendencies to be larger than some websites in size.

It's all about personal opinions here. I'd go with flash and html, but I don't have the money, time, modem, or HD space for both. So I'm sticking with the basics. :)

Oh and: if you can find me a free e-mail provider (other than msn and hotmail) I'd be more than happy to host your webpages for free at my website! No charge or anything! :)
