Software Base Station?

Somewhere... dunno though
Okay, I just ordered my iMac G4 @ 800 MHz with Superdrive (again... yes...)

it will be here soon (due to SmallDog.com's GREAT availability!)

i heard of the Software Base Station...

is it OS X ready? will it be able to communicate with Windows PC's?

or do I gotta buy an AirPort Base Station (which I don't want to do due to the sheer cost of the thing!)

help!

i ordered one the day that they came out but had to return it due to financial complications... i didn't even get to open the box!

so i have now bought a 2nd imac (but only owned one)

Thank you, simX. I was really disappointed when I learned that the Base Station capability was not enabled for OS X.

Now I am happy! See? :D

I still have to go through the process, but it doesn't seem like anything difficult.

Try this to get the software base station up and running. I use this at work. He walks you through all the steps to get it going. And no command line.

Uh, which is, I think, exactly what simX pointed to. On Versiontracker, but the same file nonetheless.

Well, looking at the link that cybergoober gave me, it says that the Software Base Station in OS X will not connect to PC laptops (so probably the same with desktops) although it says the two are connected.

simX, I don't have a mac yet so I can't open that file. thanks anyways.
