Software installation

Hi all,

after I reinstalled OS X I now want to configure it for development purposes.
What would you say is necessary for that? Which software/utilities to install or any other things every os x user should have? I heard of something called "TinkerTool", what is it for?

How to install the Development Tools? Does it suffice to install the newest diskimage (i mean the Dezember 2001 edition, the April 2002 is only beta yet) or do I have to first install the CD shipped with OS X 10.0 and then update it.

TinkerTool is for unlocking hidden goodies in the OS like transparent Terminal and such, it's not a developers tool.

I suggest getting the most recent final developer tools disk image off of the Apple Developer Connection site. The 10.0 developer tool discs are very outdated. You could throw them out or use them as coasters if you wanted, really
