Software to measure internet bandwidth?

I'm not sure of any apps but there seem to be a billion bandwidth test websites to see what is available for you to use if that helps. The only one I can think of off the top of my head is dslreports.com but there are a ton that pop up in a google search.

I'm not sure if you're looking to see max speed available or the addition of all your current downloads.
