Is there an linux type apt program for osx? If you don't know what it is, apt is a package I had installed on Redhat that allowed you to use the terminal or a GUI to get the latest versions of most software available to linux distros.
There is fink with is built around apt. You can find it at http://fink.sf.net but keep in mind it is for installing Unix style programs. The GUI is called FinkCommander and can be found at the same site.
