Despite being a computer nerd, I know NOTHING about Ebay. I signed up for an account today (a buyer's account, and since I may from time to time want to sell something, a seller's account as well) My question is this...from what I understand, the buyer's account is totally free. Am I charged anything on my seller's account if I don't post anything for sale? Let's say I buy things, but don't sell anything, just using my seller's account "in case I decide to sell something"...I don't want to be charged for something I don't use. Can someone give me a quick overview?

You buy and sell with the same account, you just have the one. It doesn't cost you anything to buy stuff (apart from any commission on PayPal, NoChex etc) and it doesn't really cost much to sell things. There's a fee for listing and then a commission charge which is a percentage of the sale (these aren't very much, have a look at the eBay help).
eBay's pretty easy to use, I've bought loads of stuff on it and sold a couple of things too. Once you get in to it, you may find it a little like iTunes though (not that I can use it yet) - its very easy buy lots of stuff you don't need! Have fun
