Sonnet Upgrade Problem

I received my Sonnet Encore ST 1ghz upgrade yesterday, I followed the instructions and installed it (took about 10 mins) but when I start it up I just get a black screen, as soon as I put my old G4 400 chip back in it works fine

I have tried updating my firmware (as per Sonnets request on the instructions) but it's already but to date, I've tried booting it up in Os9 but still no joy.

Please help :(

I emailed Sonnet yesterday, I can't call them as they are in America and I'm in the UK and it would cost a fortune.

I'm sure I'm not doing anything wrong as it's not exactly rocket science to change the damn thing :(

After upgrading the firmware, are you sure that it was successful? What was the firmware version prior to the upgrade, and afterwards? You can find the firmware version from the Apple menu/About This Mac/More Info...

I vaguely remember having to try several times to upgrade my firmware when installing OSX.

Sonnet's website suggests that your computer is compatible, so what do Sonnet have to say about this?

Did you touch any of the processor's pins (and blow it up)?

I tried to upgrade the firmware from Apples site but it said I already have the latest version, I have double checked the compatabilty and it looks fine, I was very carefully when changing the chips so I don't think I have messed it up.

I emailed Sonnet at 18:30 GMT yesterday but I haven't had any reply as yet.

They probably won't respond till earliest after 6 your time. I think they are 8 hours behind, so don't give up hope just yet. You can also try exchanging the product.

Yesterday was a holiday for many in the US and there are lots of hung over workers today so they may not get back to you too fast. ;-)

lol, thanks guys, I just thought I'd ask to see if anyone else had any ideas, looks to me like it needs to be changed, problem is that I bought it off Ebay, it was brand new and still in sealed packaging.
