Spanning eMacs

Uber Nothing
I've got sort of a strange thought; and that thought is to hook two eMacs together, and use one of the eMacs solely as an extra display. For instance, connecting one of my eMacs to the other via MiniVGA, FireWire, etc., starting one of them up(then the other), and then using Screen Spanning Doctor to span the eMac that was started up firsts' display across them both.

It this even remotely do-able?

It's possible, but impossible really. It's certainly not possible via mini vga - if you think about it that port is hard wired to the video card's output, there's no way that can be reversed. The only way this could be 'made' to work is if you were to hard wire the output of the first eMac's mini vga port to the physical wires that connect the display to the card on the other eMac ie. bypassing the other eMac's hardware altogether. Not a viable solution i'm afraid.

Tht sounds relly risky nd undoble. I thought tht there might be h 3rd prty progrm tht could do it.

(The reson my typing is chopping is cuse this keybord is fckd) lol....

Yeah. It's impossible in practical terms. You'd be better buying a cheap 17inch monitor.

I just cnt hck up the csh to get new monitor when its so close to time to upgrde. Mybe I'll just wit it out until I hve new mchine....

Crt monitors are pretty cheap on eBay... Around £25 for a 17inch that will do 1280x1024.
