i have run permissions and verify disc and talked to apple support(computer purchased in december 2005). they had me delete all the com.apple.speech files from the preferences folder and that seemed to work for about 20 minutes.
so here's what's happening: i'll be fiddling around and suddenly i will hear a beep and my window will close or the application will close - or one will open - or i'll hear just the confirmation beep. when i look at the speech feedback window it will be continously listening. sometimes it is minimized, sometimes it is on the desktop. if i hit the esc button it will go back to listen
