Splitting AVI file

I've got a rather large AVI file that I want to split into 2 so that I can burn it onto a CD. Are there any (preferably FREE) tools available to do this?

Do you have Quicktime Pro? Otherwise I wouldn't know what else you could use and that is freeware.

No I don't. But if that is the only option, I might just end up buying it. However, I'd rather not fork out any $$$ at the moment as I'm pretty much on a tight budget.

You could also use ffmpegX to split an AVI.
