Spotlight folder view options

Hi,

where does MacOS X store the folder view options for Spotlight? (The window with all search results, showing when I click "Show all results" on the tab.) Is there a .DS_Store-file for this?

Thanks,
Markus

I am not sure I understand what you are looking for. Each window you open in the finder has a Spotlight where you can type in a name. This is when the finder window turns into a Spotlight window.
Immediately under the Spotlight is Save and a +. If you click on the + you will be able to narrow your search or do a specific search. after each line is a - and a + so you can continue to narrow down the search using the attribute choices.
You can add even more to the search attribute by selecting Other in the first attribute pull down menu. A new window will appear and you can check off from the list, what you want as options for the attributes in the search.

There are no 'view' options for spotlight like there is for a finder window.

No, I think you misunderstood me - I know how to save a search ;-) I wondered where Finder store the view options for the Spotlight result windows (e.g. to use CoverFlow-/Symbol-View as default). So far I know that for regular folders Finder saves the preferences in a .DS_Store file, but I don't know where this file is stores for the search result windows of spotlight.

Did you get what I was looking for? Can you help me?

While you can change the view of the search window, there are no view options to save like in a regular finder window.
And I noticed that there is no .DS store file for the saved search folder.

Unless I'm not looking in the right spot, there is no such file.

@Cheryl:
Finder definitely saves the folder view options. If I select "Always open in CoverFlow", for example, it must save the settings somewhere. Do you know which file Spotlight/Finder uses for this?

I said there are no view options in Spotlight to save like the finder window does.

The finder saves all options in the finder preference file. Home>Library>Preferences
The com.apple.finder.plist file.
