Spotlight icon in wrong location

My problem is best summed up by a screen shot:

Now if I try to click on the apple icon, the spotlight thingy opens. Very frustrating, especially if want to access basic computer functions.

Any way to fix this? Thank you!

Try resetting the menu bar.

I managed to find a way to get into the apple though there was the spotlight icon on top of it, and the problem fixed itself once I restarted my computer. I've favourited the page you linked to, though, in case this doesn't work in the future. Thanks!
