Static? Help..

You know how when you drag your feet on the carpet and then touch someone?

I don't know if it's because it's so dry around here this time of year but the last couple days I've noticed an almost static like zap across my screen every 5 mins or so. I'm kinda freakin' out here. I wiped all the dust off of my Mac and it doesn't seem to make a difference. I have everything connected to a surge protector.
What do I do? I don't want to loose my new Emac! I love it!

It shouldn't be a problem. All CRT monitors and TVs with electron tubes create static. The screen is just glass on the outside, and all electronic parts are grounded when the computer is plugged in so there shouldn't be a problem.

If you lightly touch the screen (and you hands, naturally) with an anti-static rag (even a Bounce laundry sheet works well and smells nice), it'll help. And don't drag your feet! *said in best imitation of my Mom's voice*. :)
