Staying connected to another computer

Hello All!
My estimating program resides on a "Master" computer (OS9.2) and I connect to it via TCP/IP (OS 10.3.9). I lose this connection frequently throughout the day. There are other computers (both OS9, OSX and PC) that do not have this problem. Any suggestions?
