Hi,

I am again asking for help. I have a powerbook G4 running on mac os x 10.4.11. I have had problems with freezing since before christmas. It has gotten much worse. I have no clue what to do. Yesterday I got a repeated error message on a black screen that looked like this:

Exception state (sv=8x1CDD7788)
PC=0x000ABBF8; MSR=800001030; DAR0X00000000; DSISSR=0X42000000
BACKTRACE:

Backtrace perminatad - fraie mot mapped or invalid: 0xFF.....

That is as much as i got. I realize some things are spelled wrong, but that is how they were spelled on the computer. The 0 (zero) my be an 8 it was very hard to tell, but I'm pretty sure they are 0.

This message was repeated many times and i had to force power off. It was the first time i got it. I do also get the 3 beeps when powering on, especially after force powering down.

I was told to reseat the memory and it didn't really help.

If you have any other suggestions, thank you for the response.

Do you have other memory or the original memory if it was upgraded since it was purchased?
Does Apple Hardware Test return any errors?

I have the original memory and i haven't run any apple hardware tests, and I'm not sure how. I have had my laptop on the counter in my house for 2 days and it hasn't froze once. When it was on my lap on the chair it wouldn't not freeze. thanks for the responses.
