Hey there,

Does anyone know if it is possible to stop Mail inlining attachments it recognizes? I just got sent a HUGE txt attachment - and bloody mail is expanding it in place!!! All I want to do is save it, and I loathe having to copy and paste the whole damn thing.

Please help :)

I know, it's terribly annoying isn't it?

For the moment, you could compress the file (e.g. using zip or gzip, both included with OS X) before you send it. This would of course also reduce the size of the message you have to send as a nice side effect.

... that's what I do when I mail myself - Its just a bit embarrasing to have to ask everyone "Would you mind tar-gzipping everything you send me, coz I use Mac OS X and its only got a naff email client?" ... they've managed to make most everything else about the OS so great - I hope they manage to make the Mail.app great sometime too!
BTW: Anyone reading this who loves the inlined content: its not a question of whether inlining per se is good or not: its a question of choice - and at present there is non!

Anyway, thnx for your thoughts scruffy :)
