I have written a shell script that will backup (via ditto) my OS X system files to a second hard disk in my G4. Everything works wonderfully, but the finder has an odd behavior: when I look at the backup of /Library, the finder shows just one third of the files (Application Support thru Fonts), when I double-check via ls in the Terminal, everything's there. And when I relaunch the Finder, everything's back to normal. this isn't dangerous or worrying, just annoying, but I'd be curious to know if anyone out there can explain what might cause this behavior.
