strange os 9.2 / osx desktop

Does anybody know how it can be that most of the times (for a while I didn't have it, but now I do have it again) when I start up Os 9.2 in Os X that a strange box appears in the middle of the dekstop? When I click in the box the taskbar changes into an Os 9.2 bar but without any buttons or anything....just the basic bar. And then again when I click outside the box I get the Os X bar again.
I don't think this is really affecting my computer with speed or anything...(I don't really know 'cause I've had this problem most of the times).....but it's just irritating me and I want it to dissapear!!! =))

Plz if you know what it could be and how to get rid of it....tell me!!

It sounds like a Classic application is loading at startup, and then crashing/freezing. See if you have any items in /System Folder/Startup Items. Also, if you press Command-Option-Esc, OS X will bring up a list of all the currently running applications. See if there is something in the list that you don't recognize, or something that you think should not be running.
