Struggle to choose PB!

Hello all who can help!

Its probably too late to ponder whether ive made the right choice or not (as ive ordered my 17") but.........
Im a graphic designer with film in mind and progress....so i ideally want to have max space and see more on my PB. I feel the 17" can provide this and 15" not as much as id like it to. I know the 17" is a little heavier to lug around but so are my big canvasses...its an artists life.
I like the 15" but feel .....ummmmmm.....not sure how i feel. its a great size and weight but realistically will it benefit my design and dv development?
So....i suppose 17" is the way to go....right? Incase youre asking ...why not get a huge display....well my answer is i need to show clients work and wanna slap them in the face with a great design on a big screen and cant lug my monitor around...
I also wanna slap the general population with the sight of my freekin' huge PB....im a strong girl...i can handle the weight.....
ok so im just trying to help myself with hoping i made the right decision....

What do u think?

Right call. If you're doing any type of design (be it web, graphics, video, audio, etc.) then the 15" is the minimum you should get. A 17" is ideal for doing those things yet keeping some kind of portability.

This 14" screen on my iBook is barely enough to do anything with. Especially the rather limiting 1024x768 resolution they have set as the max. Thank god it's only a temp solution until we see the G5 PBs... :D

Yeah, definitely the PB 17". I'm sure you'll manage since it isn't very heavy. Heck, I think my grandma could easily carry those around.

And since you're doing graphics design, you'll probably need the fastest machine you can get so that's definitely the PB 17".

I agree, if you're going to wow clients, go with a 17. You can always get a 12 or iBook later on (or a used one) if you require portability at times. Get a nice case with it and it'll help shoulder the load.

Thanx so much for the love support and advice!

I feel better about my choice and know it will serve me well....Ive mostly been a mac desktop person and this is my first trip through the PB world of adventure and extreme!
I cant wait till it arrives and boy oh boy am i gonna become more of a mac nerd than ever before.....this is probably my cue to shut off from the everyday public. HeeeeHEEEE.
::evil::
When do you think they will bring out the G5 PB? Probably will have some teething problems....right?

Anywayz...thanx again for the advice and encouragement... :D ::love::

My 15" doesn't supply enough power to the USB ports to power bus-powered external drives. :) It doesn't seem that the 17" and 12" models have this problem. And I like that the 17" has better latches for the lid. Good luck with it.

thanx people.......

If you can also give me more tips about the future use of my PB 17" which will be in my greedy hands by next week that'd be cool.

Im getting with the PB an extra HD 200gb, a wireless mouse, the second skin with the crumpler for added protection and the applecare. BRill!

TEll me more about airport and all the bits about bluetooth as these are still new to me. pls. ::angel::

thanx

Bluetooth and Airport rock!

I use Airport when I'm at home and Bluetooth to hock up to the net via my GPRS phone when I'm out and about.

yeah those two diagonal inches make a huge difference in screen real estate. You've definitely made the right choice. Good luck with it.
