Stymied by Timbuktu Pro

I'm at a total loss. I used to use Timbuktu Pro (v.6) to connect with friends and family for some basic troubleshooting. That was in the days when I had DSL. It all worked well.
A while back, I switched to Comcast cable and have since been unable to connect outside my local network using Timbuktu (upgraded to 8)
Here's what I have:

A Mac G5Dual
Belkin Wireless Pre-N router (model F5D8230-4)
Comcast Cable Modem(Scientific Atlanta DPC21000 Series)
Timbuktu Pro (v.8)
MacOSX Tiger

The problem is that I can't connect with other computers (also running the same app) nor can they connect to me. I've used port forwarding on the router to set the comm port to 405 and have reconfigured the firewall on my computer to allow communications from Timbuktu.

I'm sure I'm missing some vital piece of info, but I can't figure it out. The folks at Netopia haven't been able to offer any solutions that work and Comcast has assured me that the problem isn't on their end. Does anyone here have any suggestions? I just need to be able to make a remote connection to help my father sort out his Mac problems.

Thanks,

RonnieS
