sudo with password

Hi all

I added a password to the roor and now when I run the sudo command it ask for the password and when I enter it it shows an error message, saying that this is an incorrect password

any ideas ?

You enter your password for sudo and roots. There is no real reason to ever activate the root account under OSX.

When you use sudo you use your user account password. When you use "su" you enter the root password. As Lurk explained, there is no reason to activate the root password on OS X.
 
As I read what I typed above it makes no sense. Thanks for clarifying that. I wanted to say "your password and not root's."
