Suggestions for Alternative OS's (to play with really)...?

...ok, i love OS X, but i am keen to try something more. I am bored of Windows, i wouldn't mind something new, to play with. Obviously Free, and if its NOT a major resource hog, i have VPC6 too ;)

Any suggestions guys?

-Yellow Dog Linux (PPC ver.)
-Mandrake Linux (PPC ver.)
-Other Linux OSes (under VPC)
-Older OpenStep OS versions
-Mac OS 9.x or even 8.x ;)
-Any Windows version
-MS/DR/PC-DOS
-Give a shot with Amiga emulation software the Amiga OS (sometimes this can be very tricky)
-And if you have ATI graphics give a shot to VGS in order to play PS1 games :D

And surely I would tell you to use BeOS but under VPC, IF and EVER will work, it would be DEAD slow...

Man, you must be bored. I wish I had as much spare time as you do :)

I have used Mac OS 7.5.3 for 3 years, and Mac OS 8.1 for 4 years. Both are cool systems. I also use Mac OS 9.2.2 on a daily basis.

Well, I don't know many non-Macintosh systems... I know one, that is GREAT in my opinion: do you know the Texas Instr. TI-89 calculator ? It has a complete OS. Moreover, you can install other OS's on it. If you have a TI-89, check www.ticalc.org for some OS's like Doors or Fargo II.
I use to program a lot on this calc. If you know a bit of C and ASM (assembly), you'll have to read a few guides and you'll be able to write games and do nice tricks with this calc. It also supports a special form of BASIC.
