Superdrive upgrade for the iBook

That drive is for the Dual USB iBook only from what I read.

How much memory is on you G4? I bet iDVD would run better with more memory installed.
 
Well, Dual USB iBooks have been out for 2 years now...I know, because I got a rev A the first month they were out. I only have 256MB of Ram in my 1ghz iMac, but I'm getting another 512 ASAP...it's about all I can afford right now.
 
Well, my ibook with 640 mb of ram runs smoothly anything that i need ... i could think about that superdrive eventually (not the first thing to get though) one day. with 640 mb it's smooth - i really wish i could use 1 GB of ram ;) :)
 
Will RAM haelp my gaming performance @ all? Compared to my previous iMac with 32MB VRAM, this one is GREAT...but it could still use a boost. I just want a "snappy" system...I feel jealous when I use my brother's brand new HP desktop that only cost him $800, and it feels faster than my new iMac...
 
The RAM *will* make the difference. E.g. an iBook with only 128 MB is painfully slow when you have PhotoShop, Dreamweaver, iChat, Fire, mail and Safari on ... but it will handle those smoothly with 640 MB. 32 MB might work with up to 8.x or 9.x but with X it's so slow .. I hope I can one day put a 1 GB RAM to my iBook - it will or would make everything so much faster and smoother.
