System will not sleep with wireless mouse

I began using a Microsoft Wireless optical mouse. Since then my system will not go into sleep mode. When I force sleep, the green light on the usb mouse box goes out. All I do is touch the mouse and the syetm starts. Any suggestions as to why this would ocour on my system only with a wireless mouse?

What kind of surface is your optical mouse resting on?

I use a standrad mouse pad - dark blue in color

With my Logitech Cordless Optical Mouse, the sleep feature works fine.
I've never had problems.

of course the system starts when you touch the mouse... thats what sleep is...
