Hi just wanted to know if anyone using this software know hows to create a boot cd, made a backup of the original and have lost my oroginal copy so have to revert to the backup copy, have tried just burning the dmg in toast 6 but none of my machines, imac, emac, g3 will boot from the cd, any settingins I should be using to create the boot cd.

Contact the developer. You've paid for the software, so you can get their support.

The only utility I know of that will create a bootable CD is called Boot CD. You can create a bootable CD with TechTool Pro on it using this utility, but there are two caveats
  1. BootCD takes a long time to boot, as much as ten minutes or even more
  2. The major repair routines in TechTool Pro require the use of virtual memory and should not be run when booted from a CD -- even a BootCD. Tests are okay, but not repairs.
  3. Booting from a BootCD is not officially supported by Micromat so you are on your own with that
The TechTool Pro eDrive is intended to get around both of these limitations. but it is at the cost of 4 GB of space on your hard drive. Other than that if you want a bootable CD copy of TechTool Pro contact Micromat Customer Service and assuming your copy is registered they will send you a new CD at a nominal price.

NOTE: Even a bootable CD from Micromat does not get around number 2.
