I'm trying to solve a problem of CDs and Zip disks not mounting on my 450 G4. I'm running OSX 10.2.4 and haven't been able to solve the problem by reinstalling the system, or by following apples instructions of replacing the hostconfig file.
I think that maybe the CD drive is bad, I can't even boot up from the system disk now. Screen just stays grey.
Is there anyway to test my CD drive before I have to take it into the shop?
