I have a TextEdit document with some error in it that makes TextEdit unable to open it. It is a collection of e-mails with attachements and important to me.
I tried to open it with Appleworks and it came up with error #-1409. Word also fails to even regard it as a document...
Is there any way?

PS is it an "other" or a "utility"? I wasn't sure...
 
You should at least be able to access the attachments (mp3s, jpgs, etc.):

Select the file in the Finder, then (with your mouse) either right-click or
control-click the file, one of the choices in the menu that pops up is "Show Package Contents" - if you select this, a folder will open that shows all the contents of the file, which you can play around with from there.
