Not really if you consider that they used the stolen software patent (if such a thing really exists - I'm not sure it does) to crush competition and break standards on their way to amassing a 43 billion dollar bank account.
 
The problem is that this case isn't over quite yet. M$ is pursuing a way to rule (through the Patents Office) that the patent was invalid. Also, the will take it to the next level for appeals. It'll be 2 years before they will ante up anything, and once they do, the issue will be a moot one.
 
That's the problem with today's modern law system... it's too slow to keep up with the pace of technology. And I don't mean putting G5's in the courtrooms for the stenographers, I mean trying to pass legislation on an issue of one company's technology vs. another. By the time it gets passed, the technology's obsolete and we're using something far more advanced.

Unfortunately, this means Microsoft is going to get away with a lot more crap than they are entitled to.
