NetBarrier The ipfw firewall that is built into OS X is at least as good as Intego's Net Barrier although perhaps not quite as fancy so I see no reason to pay for it.
VirusBarrier is a decent antivirus package. Although there are no know viruses for OS X antivirus falls into the category of better safe than sorry. This is the one I would take for the "free" product if you elect not to purchase the entire package.
ContentBarrier If you have young children and want to control their internet access this is as good as any that I know of. As hard as it is, I still think the best content barrier is educating children about your values and practicing what you preach. Ie. don't tell the kids not to go to X rated sites and then leave copies of Hustler or Playboy lying around the house.
Personal Backup Frankly, I have not seen any comments about this product one way or another. I do think a good backup utility is a worthwhile investment if you use it regularly and if you can easily restore from the backups. That may seem obvious but sometimes it seems both are ignored by developers and users.
Each of these products sell for £33 so the package price is a very good value if you really need and will use three or more of the products in the suite. Assuming today's exchange rate .Mac will cost £55 and you will get Virex 7.2, and Apple's Backup along with an email account, a web host, and 100 MB of online disk space that integrates seamlessly with Panther. There are also several other "members only" free or low cost software options. Of course you have to renew your .Mac membership each year so it is not a one time expense. But then you will have to subscribe to virus signature updates and purchase product upgrades of the Intego products so that may be close to a wash.
