The new displays are here....kindoff

If this is the only difference, it doesn't explain the $500 rebate.

Something else is happening, but what ?
 
I think that discrepancy is just a differentce in the pictures -- I'll bet the lines are still there. Besides, they look good.

I'll bet new displays are coming at MWSF. Why? The current display lineup has been out for almost half a year (at least since MWNY in July), and probably longer than that (I don't remember). And the current rebate seals the deal -- they're probably getting rid of inventory.

So what is coming? The 17" will be the new low-end display, coming out at $599. A new 19" will be introduced at the $999 price point. And the Cinema display? The price might go down $100 or $200, but other than that, nothing will change.

I want a shiny cinema display! With the old green and orange light bulb. But I also like the new one. I want the old one in classic and the new one in OS X. I want it now.
