I've recently noticed that a BBC series can be legally downloaded for free. "The Power of Nightmares" is a series of three documentaries which proposes that the 20th Century was a time when politicians moved towards "the politics of fear," and parallels the neo-conservative movement in the West with the radical Islamists in the East... It's quite interesting how the sides mirror each other and to see how history has unfolded.
For more information about the series, there is a Wikipedia article, but it may spoil the series slightly if you might plan to watch it. The Wikipedia article says it has been aired in a few countries, but no one would air it in the US. The video now appears to have been provided by the BBC so that the general public can view it.
If you'd like to watch the series for yourself, you can either obtain an ISO file from the Internet Archive or you can see the separate parts on Google Video. Well worth watching!
