This is getting old...

...and older still. I have just visited Birmy's site where it says their OS X RIP covering the Epson StylusColour 1520 and other printers won't now be available until July. I guess they are still hitting roadblocks along the way.

But...

As ever, the drivers should all be down to Epson to produce.

As ever, we want an upgrade for Epson's own StylusRip and Epson's own regular drivers.

As ever, we won't get them. Not from Epson apparently.

As ever, anybody got any new hacks? I can't find anything similar to the SC1520 drivers.

(Just thought I'd start yet another new thread on the darned subject... who knows, maybe Epson actually scan these forums?)

speaking of scanning, i ve been checking this website twice a month to check up on P scanners. this page went up in december, and it used to read early spring. now it reads late spring. but i think spring will be over soon, and i am still without scanner...

it is time for hardware manufacturers to get in gear. i am really hoping that by the time i get jaguar, i will have scanner support.

I think your spring has sprung, lethe.

:D Of course, we could always use OS 9 exclusively until the gears wear out and we're forced to buy new equipment that'll work with X. I just don't want to wait five years. I'm too old to be patient.

I blame hardware manufacturers (mainly Epson) for my drink problem. I don't get time for any while I muck around trying to make things work!

And another thing for those of us with working X scanners - TWAIN! The following is a quote from twain.org and appears to be the latest info on their site:

"TUALATIN, OR - May 22, 2001 - Digimarc and the TWAIN Working Group today announced a developer pre-release version of the industry standard TWAIN interface that enables Mac OS X application developers to acquire images from scanners and digital cameras. The pre-release version of the TWAIN application program interface (API) for the Mac OS X platform is a free download currently available online at www.twain.org."

Note the date!!

I know there's a MagicScan beta p-shop plug-in knocking around, it was reviewed in MacFormat mag back in January, but since then, not a whisper. Not that that'll help with your HP, though.
