DailyMac has one of the most retarded rumors I've ever seen: here

An mp3 player that could burn cd's is ridiculous. Why in the world would you want to burn cd's from an mp3 player? Really insane rumors like this are annoying...
 
The camera does sound pretty cool though...not having to worry about memory devices and having room for several days worth of photos would be VERY handy

And I'm itching for that 10 gig iPod...it would be perfect :D
 
Burning CD's straight into a CD player would mean that you wouldn't need to use a computer to get to all of your music...just import directly into iPod...handy for when you see a CD of your friend's that you like and don't have your computer with you...this is why I'd be real surprised if this ever was made

Also, it would go against everything that Apple's 'Digital Hub' strategy means. The idea is that the Mac is the centre of your digital lifestyle, and all the peripherals (your camera, your PDA, your iPod) hook up to that hub in the easiest way possible. This is why there's no way to edit tags or delete files on the iPod - because you're supposed to do all that from the computer. The thing that makes the iPod so user-friendly and lovely is the fact that it has the most stripped-down interface possible - it only has the controls you need to play music, and you do everything else from iTunes. An iPod that could rip MP3s or burn CDs without a Mac would contradict Steve's entire philosophy.
 
I hear ya tismey and I agree with what you are saying...it would mess up the whole hub idea. That's another reason (besides the music copyright issues that I brought up) why I would be surprised to see it made that way.

Hopefully that camera rumor has something to it though :cool:
 
Imagine the guy sitting next to the record store. He goes in, buys the number one selling cd, goes outside and sells CD-Rs of it at a much lower price. :)

"Get music, import and SHARE." ;)

Guess Apple might get some problems... ;)
 
sure would... i was really disturbed when I saw so many of those rumors. I cdrw, no matter how thin would still have to be the size of a cd, and thats too big for me... i'll stick to my SMALL iPod, thank you
