TI Powerbook and 2nd monitor

Anyone have problems running a second monitor off of their powerbook? I got a TI Powerbook 867 w/512 ram and want to run a 20" Sony Multiscan 400PS off of it. Thanks.
 
I have a PowerBook 667 and i keep a second monitor handy. If i need it i plug it in and then go under the displays panel and hit detect displays. Works fine. No restarting or anything. And when i'm done i unhook and hit detect display again and it's gone!
