I was working on my TiBook and got up to grab a drink. I was working on the carpet and carefully slid it toward a chair I was going to sit in. When I came back it was frozen and would not respond in any way. I did a hard shutdown and now it will not turn on. When I press the startup button, I get nothing at all. Occasionally, i will get a fan noise, but no startup sound.
If I am lucky enough to get the fan noise, I also can activate lights on my keyboard caps lock and numlock keys, but no screen light at all (brightness does not respond).
I was getting close to dead battery, so I plugged it in before noticing the freeze.
I was also getting close to disk full, but still had a few hundred megabytes to go.
Possible ideas are three:
1. Did I zap something with static electricity when I slid it on the carpet?
2. Did I zap something when I plugged it in near a low power warning or possible sleep mode?
3. Could the full hard drive have cracked some important file under these conditions?
Please help if you can.
