I hope I am not reasking this question. I have recently installed OS X tiger on my old G3 PowerBook (firewire) and I have noticed the optical drive, which is just a plain CD-Rom/DVD-Rom drive, failed to work, ie it doesn't mount any of the inserted DVD/CD media. However, I am able to boot from the same optical drive by pressing "c" on startup, so I am wondering if the optical drive in my powerbook is not supported by Tiger and if so, is there a get around?
